JOB SUMMARY:  
The Project Manager will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering strategic projects and large-scale initiatives on behalf of our client, the World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA), including flagship activities such as the WSAVA Annual Congress.  

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
• Plan, coordinate, and manage the delivery of both short-term and long-term strategic projects from initiation through completion; 
• Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, milestones, and work plans aligned with agreed objectives and strategic priorities; 
• Coordinate and manage large-scale activities and events, including congresses delivered in collaboration with external partners such as Professional Congress Organisers; 
• Monitor project progress, identify risks and issues, and provide regular status updates to project sponsors and key stakeholders; 
• Collaborate closely with internal teams, Executive Board members, committees, partners, suppliers, and contractors across multiple time zones; 
• Manage and oversee external service providers to ensure delivery meets agreed scope, timelines, and quality standards; 
• Prepare project-related documentation, reports, updates, and recommendations for senior stakeholders; 
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all parties involved in each project; 
• Support quality assurance by ensuring project outcomes align with organizational standards, principles, and expectations; 
• Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement of project management practices; 
• Ensure compliance with all relevant policies, processes, and governance frameworks. 

JOB SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:  
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; 
• Proven experience in a project management role, ideally within a nonprofit, membership-based, or event-driven organisation; 
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant professional experience; project management certification is considered an advantage; 
• Demonstrated experience delivering complex projects involving multiple stakeholders; 
• Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage several projects simultaneously; 
• Ability to work effectively within international and cross-cultural environments; 
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt plans in response to changing priorities; 
• Confidence working independently with sound judgment and initiative; 
• Proficiency with digital tools for project planning, documentation, and reporting, including Microsoft Office or equivalent platforms.
